Lieu Beauty is a clean, minimal beauty brand offering lightweight lip products for everyday wear, with its online store serving as the primary way for the brand to meet the world. Founder Lulu Chen worked closely with Andy from Studio Andiamo on the branding and design of the Shopify storefront. They needed someone to bring that vision to life, and that’s when they brought me in.

Intro
Problem
Lulu wanted a highly customized storefront that could convey Lieu Beauty’s personality without sacrificing flexibility behind the scenes. The site needed to be easy for the team to edit and manage themselves, while providing a strong foundation that could scale as the brand grows and new products and features are introduced.
Approach
With Lulu and Andy’s vision in mind, I built the theme around Shopify’s metaobjects, metafields and Theme Blocks. Together, these created a flexible foundation for the storefront, allowing the custom design to shine while giving the Lieu Beauty team more control over content, product data and layout without having to touch the code.
Result
The final storefront translates the original Figma designs into a flexible Shopify experience that stays true to Lieu Beauty’s clean and considered visual identity. Lulu can manage most of the storefront herself, while the underlying structure makes it easier for me to jump back in and quickly build or expand features as the brand continues to grow.
